How can I find what I am looking for?
Psychology Tools has hundreds of resources to support your clinical work. Each resource is available in multiple languages, and multiple file formats. We work hard to make sure that you can find what you want, when you want. This short guide will show you how to get the most from Psychology Tools.

Use the search box on the front page
The search box on the front page of Psychology Tools is a great way to find the therapy resources that you need. When you enter a search term, you will be shown a filtered list of all the resources relevant to that search term.
Browse and filter the ‘All Resources’ page
Sometimes you’re not sure precisely what you want and just want to browse. Other times you think “I’ll know it when I see it”. Both of these situations are what the All Resources page is for. In the left column you will find options which allow you to filter the resources that you see.
Use the search field to view results relevant to your chosen search term
Use the ‘Problem’ filter to review resources relevant to a particular problem or disorder
Use the ‘Therapy tool’ filter to review resources according to tool type
Use the ‘Language’ drop-down filter to view resources available in a particular language
View all available resources by clearing your selected filters
Use the Professional menu to explore resources by problem, therapeutic orientation, technique, or mechanism
We understand that mental health professionals work in different ways. That’s why we index resources carefully: to help you find what you need, and to help you make theory-practice links by situating resources in context. Accessing pages via the ‘Professional’ menu will not only show you Psychology Tools resources, but also curated lists of information and resources relevant to your chosen topic. Topics are indexed according to:
Problem, difficulty, or disorder
Therapeutic orientation
Therapeutic technique or intervention type
Mechanisms and processes
Use the search feature in the menu bar to search the whole site
The search function in the menu bar is designed to return the broadest possible array of results. This search feature indexes Psychology Tools worksheets, exercises, handouts, pages, self-help information, and articles. If you don’t get a result for your search term using menu bar search then we probably don’t have what you’re looking for (in which case, tell us!)
Use the Self-Help menu to explore information for the public
Psychology Tools mission is twofold: to help therapists to deliver great therapy, and to be a reliable source of psychological self-help for the public. You can use the Self-Help menu to find information written for members of the public, or you can tell your clients to explore this part of the site.
